Description:
A group for fans of this incredibly awesome sub-subgenre of metal.
For her lust, she'll burn in hell, her soul done medium-well. - Type O Negative, "Christian Woman"
Fold thy raven wings
'Tis our duty, darkness brings
If this day be our last
Our victims await
For they are vast - MyWhining Dying Bride, "Thy Raven Wings"
BART! BART! BART! - Morbid Angel, "Destructos vs. The Earth" or whatever the fuck it's called
Technical gothic metal is a sub-subgenre of HEAVY FUCKIN' METAL that is defined by three major criteria:
1. It's metal, so it's got, like, distorted guitars and heaviness and screaming and stuff. Generally, technical gothic metal takes more influence from death, black or doom metal than other styles of metal, but there are exceptions (e.g. Dream Theater, Kamelot).
2. It's got elements of post-punk, goth rock, industrial rock, new wave, noise rock, shoegaze or post-rock. Preferably a mixture of a couple of those styles.
3. It'snot actually that technical REALLY FUCKIN TECHNICAL BRO, LOOK AT ALL THOSE SWEEPS AND TIME SIGNATURE CHANGES THEY MAKE MY FACE MELT
If you are a fan of this style of music, please feel free to join this group. If you are not a fan of this style of music, then you suck and have bad taste in music.
Connected artists are all part of the technical gothic metal subgenre except for Kate Bush, who is only here because every single metalhead that's ever existed has a crush on her. If there are any essential bands in the style missing from the connections, feel free to inform us and then we can add them and then we'll all be happy and stuff.
