Melodic death metal

Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of metal which combines the melody of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) with the intensity of death metal. The genre is also known as Gothenburg metal, a reference to the city in Sweden where it originated. thats why it was a disapointment, normally their albums are excelent. the material they've been putting out the last years: Character, Fiction and Damage Done were all fucktastic, even the unreleased material albums were great. and yea, i agree that over all DT is the best melodeath band in history.

The last DT album is a satisfying album all the way through. It's not their best, but that doesn't matter. DT isn't the greatest melodeath band in history because of what they've been doing recently, but what they've been doing for 20 years. They never sold out, and always stayed true to the genre. They're not my favorite melodeath band, that honor is reserved for Thousand Leaves, but DT does deserve the title of greatest melodeath band more than any other band, even At The Gates.
